Termination of ABCI 2.0 operation due to the introduction of the next ABCI system

With the introduction of the next ABCI system, ABCI 2.0 operations will be terminated on October 31, 2024. In preparation for this, several services will be phased out. After the operation of ABCI 2.0 terminated, there will be a period of service outage due to system replacement, but we plan to minimize the outage period and start operation of the next ABCI system as soon as possible. We plan to operate the system in such a way that it will continue to be available to everyone. Details regarding the next ABCI system, including the amount and type of computing resources to be provided and the timing of the start of operations, will be made public as soon as possible.

June 28, 2024 (tentative)

• End of service of one of the Groupe Areas, /projects
• End of service of the Global Scratch Area (/scratch)

October 31, 2024 (tentative)

• All services terminated

∗ Large scale maintenance

• In preparation for the implementation of the next ABCI system, we will be performing large-scale maintenance with extended outages by the end of October. Specifically, four outages of 3-15 days are scheduled.
