Announcement of ABCI 3.0 Launch Date

Dear Valued ABCI Users,

Thank you for your continued use of ABCI.

We are pleased to announce that the next generation of ABCI, “ABCI 3.0,” is now ready for use, and the launch date has been set.

Launch Date and Time: January 20, 2025, at 12:00 PM

The newly launched ABCI 3.0 features significant performance improvements and increased capacity through the adoption of the latest high-performance, energy-efficient GPUs1. It also inherits the technical foundation of the previous ABCI, providing a user-friendly environment.

Additionally, we have reformed the usage system in ABCI 3.0. These reforms include prioritizing public research and development by national research institutes, universities, and startups2, supporting proof-of-concepts regarding data utilization that contribute to the advancement of generative AI3, and introducing the regional priority program to support AI development outside the Tokyo metropolitan area4.

We sincerely hope that the launch of ABCI 3.0 will further promote generative AI research and development in Japan and that more people will benefit from its results. We look forward to your continued support of ABCI.

Happy Holidays!

ABCI Team
