ABCI LOGO CITATION GUIDELINES

The ABCI Logo Citation Guidelines (hereinafter referred to as the "Guidelines") set forth the basic rules for the use of the logo (the attached logo [PDF] Caption is in Japanese, hereinafter referred to as the "ABCI Logo") used on the ABCI, a shared high-performance computing system operated by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "Institute"). The following are the basic rules for citation of the ABCI Logo (the "ABCI Logo"). Any person who wishes to use the ABCI Logo (hereinafter referred to as "Citer") may use the ABCI Logo free of charge, provided that the Citer complies with the provisions of these Guidelines. By citing the ABCI Logo, the Citer is deemed to have agreed to these Guidelines.

The copyright of the ABCI Logo belongs to the Institute.

For Citation Purposes

Citers may cite the ABCI Logo only in the following cases

  • When the ABCI logo is cited for the purpose of introducing the ABCI or the results obtained from the ABCI services.
  • When cited in lectures, exhibitions, conferences, etc. held by users who are in partnership with the Institute for joint research, etc., with the permission of the Institute.
  • In other cases where the Institute specifically grants permission.
  • Conditions of Cite

    In citing the ABCI logo, the citer must comply with the following conditions of cite.

  • The ABCI Logo shall only be enlarged or reduced in size without changing the vertical or horizontal magnification, and shall not be cropped or otherwise altered in any way to preserve the identity of the work.
  • When the ABCI logo is used in a publication, the original or a color copy of the publication must be sent to the Institute so that the Institute can verify its use. In this case, the citer shall bear the cost of sending the logo to the Institute.
  • The ABCI Logo shall not be used as part of a product name, service name, trademark, logo, corporate name, etc. of any entity other than the Institute.
  • Shall not to use the ABCI Logo in a misleading manner that suggests an affiliation or partnership with the Institute, or an endorsement, sponsorship, or recommendation by the Institute, without the permission of the Institute.
  • Shall not use the ABCI Logo in a manner that discredits or brings into disrepute the Institute or the ABCI.

    Citer’s Responsibility

  • If the citer uses the ABCI logo (1) in violation of the terms of use, (2) in violation of public order and morals, or (3) in any other way that the Institute deems inappropriate, the Institute may take necessary measures such as revoking the license to use the ABCI logo or suspending its use, and the citer shall comply with such measures.
  • In the event that the citer falls under the preceding paragraph and causes any direct or indirect damage to the Institute, the citer shall immediately compensate the Institute for such damage in accordance with the Institute's demand.
  • Disclaimer of Liability

    By allowing the Citer to use the ABCI Logo, the Institute does not grant any guarantee or authority, and shall not be liable for any damages incurred by the Citer resulting from the use of the ABCI Logo.

    Modification of these Guidelines

    The Institute reserves the right to change these Guidelines as it deems necessary without prior notice to the citer. The modified Guidelines shall become effective when posted in appropriate places on the Institute’s website, and the citer shall be deemed to have agreed to the modified Guidelines by continuing to use the ABCI Logo after the modification becomes effective.
